General Terms and Conditions

General Terms version 1.0 · 10 October 2026. See the Round Schedule

1. How these terms work

These General Terms apply to all BRAVE illustration contests run under the Beyond the Label campaign (each a “Contest”).

Each Contest has its own Round Schedule, published alongside these terms, which sets out the theme, opening and closing dates, entry method, number of winners and prizes for that round. Where the Round Schedule differs from these General Terms, the Round Schedule applies.

The Contest is organised by one of the co-chairing agencies of Beyond the Label, a national movement addressing stigma around mental health conditions. In these terms, “the Beyond the Label team” means TOUCH Community Services, which runs the Contest, together with AKIN, appointed as agency.

2. Eligibility

  • Open to residents of Singapore.
  • Entrants under 18 must have the consent of a parent or legal guardian, and we may ask for confirmation of that consent before awarding a prize.
  • The organisers may request proof of eligibility before awarding a prize.

3. How to enter

Entry is free and no purchase is necessary. The entry method for each round is set out in the Round Schedule.

Where a round is entered by public social media post, your profile must be public for your entry to be visible to the organisers.

Where a round is entered by email, entries must be sent to the address given in the Round Schedule, using the subject line format stated there.

Multiple entries are permitted unless the Round Schedule states otherwise. Each entry is assessed separately.

4. Entry requirements

To be valid, an entry must meet the following:

  • The artwork features the BRAVE mascot, keeping BRAVE’s signature colours, face features and body shape (BRAVE has hands, not legs).
  • The artwork responds to the theme set out in the Round Schedule.
  • The artwork is your own original work, created by you for this Contest.
  • The artwork does not include third-party characters, logos, trademarks or copyrighted material.
  • The artwork does not include identifiable people without their consent.
  • The artwork is not unlawful, offensive, defamatory, or promotional in nature.
  • Entrants must be able to describe how their artwork was made.
  • The organisers may ask to see evidence of the working process, such as sketches, working files or drafts, before confirming a winner. Entrants should keep these until the round closes.

Entries must be created by the entrant. BRAVE is a brand asset of Beyond the Label, and entrants should not upload BRAVE artwork or reference material to generative AI tools.

Any style or medium is welcome. Where a round requires files to meet a technical specification, this is stated in the Round Schedule.

The organisers reserve the right to disqualify any entry that does not meet these requirements.

5. Judging

This section applies where the Round Schedule states that the round is judged. Where the Round Schedule states that winners are selected by random draw, winners are drawn at random from all valid entries, and sections on judging criteria do not apply.

Entries are assessed by an internal judging panel from the Beyond the Label team.

Unless the Round Schedule states additional criteria, entries are judged on:

  • Originality and creative interpretation of the theme
  • Craft and execution
  • How well the written rationale connects the artwork to the theme

Entries are assessed on the entrant's own creative contribution alongside the criteria above.

The panel’s decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into.

This applies to all rounds. Winners are notified within 14 working days of the closing date, via the contact details or social account provided. A winner who does not respond within 7 days of notification may forfeit the prize, and the organisers may select another entry in their place.

6. Prizes

The prizes for each round are set out in the Round Schedule. The following applies to all rounds:

  • Prizes are non-transferable and cannot be exchanged for cash or any other item.
  • The organisers may substitute a prize of equal or greater value if the stated item becomes unavailable.
  • Where the Round Schedule states that prizes are delivered, winners are responsible for providing accurate delivery details. The organisers are not responsible for prizes that cannot be delivered because incorrect details were given.
  • Where the Round Schedule states that prizes are for self-collection, winners are responsible for collecting their prize from the stated location within the stated period. A prize that is not collected or claimed within the period stated in the Round Schedule may be forfeited.
  • Where a prize includes a feature of the artwork, the timing and placement of that feature is at the organisers’ discretion.

7. Intellectual property

You retain ownership of your artwork.

By entering, you grant the Beyond the Label team a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to reproduce, publish and display your artwork on Beyond the Label channels, with credit given to you as the artist.

This licence allows the organisers to crop, resize or reformat the artwork to suit different placements. It does not permit alteration of the artwork itself.

You confirm that the artwork is your original work and that you have the right to grant this licence. This licence does not cover manufacturing or selling items bearing your artwork. Where a future round involves producing winning designs as merchandise or physical materials, that round will have its own additional terms.

8. Personal data

By entering, you consent to the Beyond the Label team collecting, using and disclosing your personal data for the purposes set out below.

We collect your name, contact details, social media handle and, where a prize is delivered, your delivery address. We use this to administer the Contest, verify eligibility, contact and announce winners, deliver prizes, and credit your artwork where it is featured.

Your personal data may be disclosed to AKIN, the agency appointed to run the Contest on our behalf.

Personal data is handled in accordance with the Personal Data Protection Act 2012 and the TOUCH Community Services privacy policy, available at touch.org.sg/privacy-policy.html. We retain your personal data for as long as it is needed for the purposes above, and cease retention once those purposes are met, unless we are required to keep it by law.

By entering, you agree that we may contact you about your entry. This includes notifying you if you win, arranging your prize, and reaching out about opportunities relating to your artwork, such as featuring it or working together on future BRAVE content.

We will only contact you about other Beyond the Label contests or campaigns if you tell us you would like us to.

You may withdraw your consent at any time by writing to BTL_admin@touch.org.sg or to the contact address in the Round Schedule. Withdrawing consent after entering does not affect the licence granted under section 7 in respect of artwork already published.

9. Changes to these terms

The organisers may update these General Terms between rounds. The version that applies to your entry is the version published at the time the round opened, as identified by the version number and date at the foot of this document.

These terms will not be changed during an open round in a way that affects entries already received.

10. General

  • The Beyond the Label team may disqualify any entrant who breaches these terms or acts in a way that damages the Contest or the Beyond the Label campaign.
  • The Beyond the Label team may suspend or cancel a round where reasonably necessary. Any such change will be published on this page.
  • This Contest is in no way sponsored, endorsed, administered by, or associated with Meta Platforms, Inc. or TikTok. Entrants release these platforms from any liability in connection with the Contest.
  • The Beyond the Label team are not responsible for entries that are lost, delayed, incomplete, or not received for reasons outside their control, including entries missed because an entrant’s social media profile is not public.
  • These terms are governed by the laws of Singapore.

11. Contact

Questions about any round can be sent to the contact address given in the Round Schedule.

12. If an entry is selected for Production

Entering a contest does not give the organisers any right to produce, manufacture or sell your artwork.

If the Beyond the Label team would like to produce an entry from any round as merchandise or physical materials:

  • They will contact the entrant first, and the entrant is free to decline;
  • Production will be covered by a separate written agreement with the entrant, setting out how the artwork will be used, and subject to the Beyond the Label team's internal approvals;
  • The entrant will be credited, and will see the final design before it is produced;
  • The Beyond the Label team may decide not to proceed at any stage, and being approached does not guarantee production.

Where a round is run specifically to select designs for production, this will be stated in the Round Schedule, and winners of that round will receive the stated prize whether or not their design is produced.
